If we return to KC we will definitely be staying at the Ameristar. Oh my!! What a difference! It was bright, beautiful, clean, LOADS of slot machines.

On Saturday, we visited the Ameristar right down the road. Men wearing hoodies and sunglasses indoors in a dark area. UGH! My friends and I are by no means 'high class' nor extremely refined, but the clientele just seemed to be the lowest of the low.

Now, lets talk about the clientele - Prostitutes galore and those that want to meet them. Over flowing ashtrays, no janitorial or housekeeping services that I could see, restrooms were disgusting. Made me feel like I was playing in a cave. It is also very dark in terms of lighting, floors, wall coverings. There are two levels, but it is still tiny. After dinner, we went to the casino which was absolutely appalling. I guess the extra money you are paying is just for the name 'Gordon Ramsay'. I've had far more tasty and well-proportioned steaks at the Texas Roadhouse. We were looking forward to the Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse, which again, wasn't bad, but was way, way, way overpriced for the quality of the food and the portions are small. The bed was very comfortable and we had a very sound nights sleep. The hotel wasn't bad, but wasn't spectacular. On every level, there was just trash all over. After checking in, we decided to park in the parking garage, which should have been our first red flag.
